December in the South

Just returned from visiting Sally in Callawassie Island.  We were working on 2013, Workt by Hand with Melissa, and playing, mostly playing.  We visited this magnificent live oak tree, called the Angel Oak.  It's 400 years old and just unbelievable (65 feet high, 25 feet around, the largest limb is 89 feet in length).  Then on to a day or touring and shopping in Charleston.  Love those old homes and the history.

Sally had decked out her house for the holidays.

One evening we spent in Beaufort for their holiday street fair.  Complete with lights, carolers, and food.  With a quick stop at the Tabby quilt shop.

The last day was spent in Savannah with great shopping, a stop at SCAD's gift shop, and a wonderful evening tour of some of the historic homes.  A wonderful trip shared with friends.
